I'm very sorry to learn of Glenn's passing.  Life's not fair.  He and I were on the SHS track team together.  He was a great teammate and an all around good guy.  "Gooch" had an infectious "aw shucks" smile and a terrific sense of humor.  I'm sure everyone who knew him misses him very much.

Glenn was the second person in my life to expose me to the matial arts.  Judo was his game as I remember it.  My interest has remained until this day.

MY first taste of the martial arts was, believe it or not, when I met Bruce Lee.  Bruce stayed with an editor for the Seattle P.I. when he first came to the states.  That man brought  Bruce to the little Baptist church I went to and Bruce would show us kids a few moves out back after church.

I told Glenn that I used to "spar" with Bruce Lee.  He wasn't sure what to believe at first.  But later he was just a little jealous when he found out that I knew Bruce.

Glenn was a very nice guy.  I have some fond memories.

Glenn Tsugio Hashiguchi passed away November 19, 2008, at Evergreen Hospital after a short, hard-fought battle with cancer.  Glenn was born in the Internment Camp at Hunt, Idaho, on March 20, 1945. After WWII the family was released back to their family farm in Bellevue.  Glenn grew up in Bellevue fishing and hunting with his brothers.  After he married Clo they moved to Bothell to raise their family.  Glenn ran a successful landscaping business for over 20 years.  The whole family would like to thank Dr. Matt Lonergan who walked the whole way with Glenn during his illness.  Glen is survived by his daughter Monica of Bothell; his son Brian of Jupiter, Florida; his mother Mitzie of Bellevue; his brother Les of Everett; his brother Wayne and sister-in-law Jill of Bellevue and a large extended family...

From the obituary published in The Seattle Times, November 21-22, 2008

Glenn always was thoughtful, caring and could make you laugh and know everything was going to be alright. I will miss Glenn's smile and his tremendous sense of humor.

Bob Peterson remembers Glenn among our confirmation class at Highland Covenant in 1957-1958, and especially Ted Sonstegaard and Glenn "rocking back in their chairs [in the attic room in the old sanctuary] and trying to give the pastor a hard time.  How the guys satisfied their confirmation criteria I don't know, but it was for me a benchmark in my Christian faith."
