Activities: Salmon fishing at Sekiu, WA, 89 days a year for 25 years.
Teaching "Thinking With Science" to all fifth-graders in the Orting and Eatonville school districts on a volunteer basis for 14 years. Writing and publishing: science fiction, essays, educational books and political books.

High points: Appointed Science Coordinator for Bellevue School District in 1963. Retired in 1982. Wrote college textbook on methods of teaching thinking skills. Ran for governor of WA in 2004. Ran for Supt. of Public Instruction in 2008.

School Story:

Taught at Bellevue High School, 1957-1959.
Taught at Sammamish High, 1959-1963.
Taught Biology, Plant Propagation, Animal Studies, Zoology, Botany
The class of '61 was my first class at Sammamish. (Last class at Sammamish was '63)
My favorite class was Plant Propagation because it wan an entirely hands-on class working in the greenhouse. Many students have told me in recent years how they benefitted from that class.
